Chicken Jalfrezi cooked in Microwave oven

Today sharing with you all another microwave cooking experiment with Chicken. I never tried cooking any chicken recipe in microwave before..last week I dared to try out one from one Micro cookbook by Nita Mehta. Murg Jalfrezi is the one of my favorite recipe to serve with roti or chapati for dinner, which I make quite often, this time I thought to cook it in Microwave oven. Try it, the recipe is very easy to make and taste great. Check out my other Chicken Jalfrezy recipe cooked on Gas.
Jhal Fraizee/Jal fraizee, where "jal/jhal" means 'hot' and fraizee is a colloquial way of saying 'fried'. So, on the whole, this is a stir-fry chicken dish with boneless chicken and the main ingredients are onions, bell pepper, garlic and tomatoes.

Ingredients :

Chicken breast(boneless) : 500 gms.(Cut into thin strips)
Capsicum : 1, cut into thin strips

Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tblsp.
lemon juice : 1 tblsp.
Oil : 1 tblsp.
Salt : 1/2 tsp.
Fresh Cream : 1/4 cup(optional, I didn't use it)

Make into paste :
Tomatoes : 3
Salt : 1/2 tsp.
Garam masala : 1/2 tsp.
Cumin(jeera) powder : 1/2 tsp.
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp.
Red Chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp. or as per taste
Coriander Powder(dhaniya) : 1 tsp.
Oil : 1 tblsp.

How to:
  •  Marinate chicken in lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, 1 tblsp. oil and 1/2 tsp. salt. keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • Grind together all the ingredients listed under "make into paste" in a mixer till smooth.
  •  Microwave paste for 6 minutes in High. After 6 minutes it will look like this.
  • Add the marinated chicken with the marinade and striped capsicums. Microwave covered for 6 minutes again. Take out in between and stir and put back again in micro and continue. If you think your chicken is not done after 6 minutes of cooking, cook some more for another 3 minutes or so. But always stand by and check.
  • Give standing time of 3 minutes. Add cream, if using. Mix. garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

 Enjoy..............................................
